House of Art

House of Art

The Amalia concrete statues are all handmade by Haitham and they adorn our courtyard, while the clay figurines are exhibited in our livingroom with other local arts.

Amalia is an elegant Curaçao lady.

Every last Sunday of the month we open our doors to the public with our Amalia Exihibition.

Jan Thiel Beach

Jan Thiel Beach

Jan Thiel Beach is one of Curaçao's most beloved beaches, and it's located at just 1 kilometer from us. That's  less than 2 minutes drive or 20 minutes walk.

Here you enjoy sun, sea, sand with cocktails, food, watersports, beach tennis, diving, sailing and even nightlife.
On Saturday nights it's the place to be as everyone comes here to enjoy life music, and dancing with barefeet in the sand under the palm trees and the stars.

Diner

Diner

We don't have a restaurant at Amalia, but there are many fine restaurants in our area where you can enjoy a nice diner like restaurant Tabooshh.

Car Rental

Car Rental

Curaçao has many beautiful beaches to enjoy.
Who wants to spend their vacation in a room? Rent a car and explore our island.

We have often seen how people opt for cheap rental cars and when things went wrong, things went very wrong and expensive for these geusts.

We recommend GH Car Rental.
They are reliable, they have good service and they offer new cars.
All cars have air conditioning.

Tip: always take all risk insurance regardless of who you rent from. It doesn't matter what kind of insurance you have.

Be aware that KIA Picanto's are the most stolen car model on the island.

By the way Maps.me is the off line navigation app that works best for Curaçao.

Meet Haitham

Meet Haitham

This is Haitham.
He's the owner of Casa Amalia.

Haitham was born on Curaçao in the year 1969.
He's the father of Emile (19) and Danielle (15).

His father is the son of Lebanese imigrants and his mother has Spanish and South American roots.

In his younger years he worked for 5 years as flight attendant so he could travel the world.
Today Haitham is an entrepreneur, a sculpor, a politician and he still loves travels when he can and make friends from all parts of the world.
All the concrete statues and ceramic clay sculpters adorning our living room and courtyard are made by Haitham. (he also makes other sculptures which we can not show you here)

The kitchen of Casa Amalia is also Haitham's office and you will find him there behind his computer in his shorts and tank top.

You are always welcome for a chat.

Taxi service from airport to Amalia

Taxi service from airport to Amalia

Taxi is often the preferred method of transportation from the airport to Amalia, but taxi rates are quite high here.

We work with taxi Patricia.
The official rate from the airport to Amalia is USD 55 during the day and higher at night, but we can arrange a special rate of USD 40 with Patty.

We were once asked by a gentleman from the LGBT community if he and his friend could stay with us, and we couldn't understand why that should be a problem.

There is no reason why we shouldn't be hosting guests from the LGBT community at Casa Amalia.

So just to make it clear to everyone: at Casa Amalia guests from the LGBT community are most welcome!
