Are there restaurants in the area?
Yes, you'll find a wide selection of excellent restaurants in Jan Thiel. Most restaurants close at 11pm.
How far is Casa Amalia from the beach?
Both Jan Thiel Beach and Caracasbaai are about 1 km away, a two-minute drive or a twenty-minute walk. Jan Thiel Beach is a private beach and charges an entrance fee, while Caracasbaai is a public beach with free access.
Is Casa Amalia for adults only?
No, but the minimum age for guests is 12.
Who can we contact for airport transfers?
Taxis are readily available at the airport. If you prefer, you can also arrange a private airport transfer with Patricia a few days before your arrival by messaging her on WhatsApp at +5999 5227394. She offers a special discounted rate exclusively for our guests.
How about the room cleaning?
The final cleaning is included. In addition, the room is cleaned once a week. During this cleaning, the towels and bed linen are also changed. On weekdays in the morning, you can exchange your towels with us for clean ones.
Where can I park my rental car?
You can park on the property for free. Note that the parking lot is not gated.
What is the electrical voltage?
The standard electrical voltage in Curaçao is 110 volts, and all standard outlets at our property are 110V. If you are staying in one of our Double Queen Rooms, you'll also find one 220V outlet in the room for the convenience of our European guests.
Is there a swimming pool?
There is a dip pool that is 1 metre (3.3 feet) deep. It's designed for cooling off and relaxing while seated, rather than for swimming.
What services can we expect at Casa Amalia?
Casa Amalia has a self-catering concept, giving you complete freedom. Note that hotel-style services such as a reception, daily housekeeping, 24 hour staff and room service are not available.
Is Casa Amalia a boutique hotel or a Bed & Breakfast?
Neither. Casa Amalia is a guesthouse offering comfortable, well-appointed rooms at an affordable price in an upscale neighborhood. While we do not serve breakfast, we do have a coffee corner where you can make your own coffee.
