Welcome to Casa Amalia

Casa Amalia is named after the Venezuelan actress Amalia Pérez Díaz, and "casa" means "home" in Spanish, which fits perfectly, because that’s exactly how we want you to feel when you stay here.

Back in 2009, Haitham decided to turn one of his homes into a cozy guesthouse, built with friends in mind. The idea? A relaxed, affordable place to enjoy everything Curaçao has to offer without the high price of a hotel.

Casa Amalia is tucked away in the popular Jan Thiel neighborhood, right on Kaya Damasco. It’s just a quick 1-kilometer walk to the famous Jan Thiel Beach, and you’re super close to great restaurants, a supermarket, Dutch-owned resorts, Fort Beekenburg, the beautiful Caracasbaai Beach, the snorkeling hotspot Tugboat, and the Jan Thiel salt flats which is home to wild flamingos. You can even catch live music by the beach at Zanzibar in the evenings.

The house itself has a fun, artsy vibe. There’s a small, cozy pool and a colorful tropical courtyard that’s full of character.
It’s decorated with handmade statues of Amalia, crafted by Haitham himself, plus vibrant murals that give the space a playful, creative feel.

We’ve got three types of places to stay, depending on what you’re looking for: 11 comfy bedrooms, 4 double-queen rooms, and 4 one-bedroom apartments. Whether you're traveling solo, with a partner, or bringing the whole crew, we’ve got a space that’ll feel just right.
