Ons concept🧸Casa Amalia was founded on the vision of offering travelers comfortable, safe, and affordable accommodations in a premium neighborhood with a prime location: within walking distance of a popular beach, near a supermarket and various restaurants, and just around the corner from exclusive resorts. To achieve this concept, we transformed our villa in Jan Thiel into a 19-room guesthouse, specifically designed for vacationers who value good value and a homely feel. Casa Amalia thus offers an attractive alternative to the traditional hotel. To maintain our competitive rates, we deliberately keep operating costs low. For example, we do not have a reception desk, 24-hour staff, and do not offer room service or bellboy service. There is also no daily housekeeping. We rely on our guests' cooperation in using the facilities efficiently and believe this contributes to both a more sustainable stay and a smaller ecological footprint.

Our stairs🪜List Item 1PLEASE NOTE: Casa Amalia is located above street level, and unfortunately, our facilities are not designed to accommodate guests with special needs. Casa Amalia is only accessible via a staircase with at least 18 steps.

Self check-in ✉️List Item 2We don't have a reception desk or concierge. You check in yourself. It's quick and easy! Guests who book directly with us will receive check-in instructions from us. Guests who don't book directly with us should receive the self-check-in instructions in their travel documents. Due to European privacy regulations, we don't receive contact information or flight details from guests who book through a third party, and unfortunately, we can't contact these guests to provide additional information. It's always wise for these guests to contact us themselves.

Our Coffee Corner☕
We have a cozy outdoor coffee corner where our guests can make their own coffee or tea. It's equipped with a Nespresso machine, a filter coffee maker, an electric kettle, and a microwave. Guests are kindly requested to bring their own favorite coffee or tea or purchase it from the local supermarket. This facility has been deliberately placed outdoors to prevent tropical insects, such as ants and cockroaches, from being attracted to the rooms. It also allows us to keep the space hygienic and clean, making it more pleasant for everyone.

Air conditioners impact the climate because they consume a lot of electricity and also contain refrigerant. This refrigerant has a significant impact on the climate. Please be climate-friendly: turn off the air conditioner when you're not home, and when you do use it, make sure all doors and windows are closed.

No smoking 🚭
Casa Amalia is a guesthouse specifically designed for non-smokers, but since smokers also love to visit us, we've placed ashtrays outside our entrance. Smoking is NOT permitted inside our accommodations, nor in the courtyard or on the gallery near the double-queen rooms. This also applies to e-cigarettes. The use of narcotics is illegal in Curaçao. If you use drugs on our property or we find drugs in your accommodation, we will notify the police.
