How it all beganBetween 2007 and 2009, many Venezuelan tourists visited Curaçao, causing available hotel accommodations to become overcrowded. In response, Haitham envisioned an alternative: a small, homey, intimate, comfortable, yet affordable place near the beach where his Venezuelan friends could stay and feel right at home. This vision became a reality in Casa Amalia, named after the Venezuelan actress Amalia Pérez Díaz. Later, a Dutch tour operator discovered Casa Amalia and saw its potential. They were excited to offer it to their clients. Today, Casa Amalia is a popular accommodation for many Dutch tourists.
